Baku. Victoria Dementeva – APA. Elshad Iskandarov, Chairman of State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, has commented on the opinion of the Council of Europe Venice Commission on the law on Azerbaijan “On freedom of religion”. APA reports that Elshad Iskandarov said that it is necessary to take into consideration the realities, geopolitics, the historical experience and traditions of the country while expressing an opinion: “It is wrong to make a speech only from an academic point of view. Azerbaijan takes into consideration the opinion of the Venice commission, analyses and gives reaction. But Azerbaijan is an independent in this and other spheres and pursuing the policy meeting its national interests and geopolitical position.”
