APA reports that media director of the contest Samaya Mammadova said at the press conference today that the contest will be held on the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Union of Azerbaijani Student Youth Organizations. She focused attention on the measures taken for involvement of foreign universities in this song contest in the future.
Chairman of the Union Shahin Ismayilov said that students from 26 universities of Azerbaijan will participate in the first “Univision†student song contest. The contest will be held in two stages and 10 universities will participate in final stage, which will be held in the Eurovision format. The winners will be awarded.
The names of juries will not be announced. He noted that only students can participate in the contest and voting: “The SMS-voting will be held during the contest. The tickets will be free. It founds new tradition. The contest will be held at the Heydar Aliyev Palace.â€
Director of MuzTV, live broadcaster of the contest, Tamara Chaykhorskaya and director of the “Gizil Gala†(Golden Tower) production centre Javid Ismayilov spoke about the technical sides of the contest.
