APA reports that the event was organized by the Embassy of Romania, in its capacity of NATO Contact Point Embassy to the Republic of Azerbaijan, in cooperation with NATO HQ and NATO International School from Azerbaijan (NISA).
Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Daniel Cristian Ciobanu opened the event and said that NATO Summit in Chicago would make new opportunities for cooperation between members of alliance and partnership countries.
Chief of International Military Cooperation Department, Major-General Ramiz Najafov noted that NATO Summit in Chicago will make an opportunity to determine the cooperation directions between the alliance and partnership countries. Ramiz Najafov also touched the history of Azerbaijan-NATO relations and noted that the main spheres of the cooperation are to hold trainings and exercises and adaptation to the NATO standards.
The representatives of Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Parliament’s committee on international relations and inter-parliamentary relations, NATO International Secretariat, Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan and diplomatic corps are participating in the conference.
