In order to present Azerbaijan's ornithological tourism potential, the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau organized a promotional trip for foreign tour operators specialized in bird watching from Great Britain, Sweden, Bulgaria and the Republic of South Africa on November 8-13, APA reports.
During the visit, foreign guests visited the "bottleneck", which covers the 90 km long passage between the Caucasus Mountains and the Caspian Sea, in the territory of the "Beshbarmag Mountain" State Historical-Cultural and Nature Reserve and observed the autumn migration of birds.
In addition, visits were made to Shirvan, Kizilagac, Hirkan National Parks, Mahmudchala Lake, Varvara Reservoir, and Khizi Mountains, which are known as the main bird-watching areas in Azerbaijan, as well as other areas, rare bird species that exist in Azerbaijan were observed.
Within the program, presentations on ornithological tourism, as well as B2B format meetings were organized for the participants of the trip.
Note that the development and promotion of ornithological tourism opportunities as an important direction of ecotourism in Beshbarmaq State Historical and Cultural Reserve and other relevant areas under the State Tourism Agency has been identified as one of the priority directions.
