The remains of Munasib Namaz Mehdiyev, who was previously considered missing during the First Karabakh War, were handed over to his family today in Samukh district, APA's local bureau reports.
A farewell ceremony was held in Govlarsari village in honor of the soldier.
The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Samukh District Executive Authority, Firdovsi Aliyev, the martyr’s family members, relatives, staff from the Executive Authority, leaders of law enforcement agencies, and members of the public.
After the farewell ceremony, the remains were buried at the Govlarsari village cemetery. A military orchestra performed the National Anthem, and a gun salute was carried out.
Note that Munasib Namaz Mehdiyev was born in 1973 in Govlarsari village, Samukh district, and went missing in 1992 in the village of Aterk, Aghdara district.
