Registration for Baku Marathon 2025 has ended, APA reports.
27,000 participants have registered for the marathon, which will be held on May 4 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
This is the highest number of participants compared to previous years' marathons.
Among those who will "Conquer the Wind", are citizens of Azerbaijan as well as participants from other countries. The race will also include individuals with physical disabilities and children with Down syndrome.
The marathon’s start and finish points will be at the State Flag Square, and the 21 km route will cover the Seaside Boulevard and central streets and avenues of the capital.
Male and female participants of the marathon will compete for the top 3 places in their respective categories.
In addition, the first 2,000 participants to reach the finish line will be awarded medals, and all marathon participants, as well as volunteers who supported the organization of the event, will receive certificates.
Entertainment zones will be set up at the State Flag Square and various points along the route for marathon participants, city residents, and guests. These zones will feature entertainment programs, contests, and sports activities.
