Studies show that the impact of the process of transition to a green economy on the labor market will result in the creation of new jobs in positive dynamics, and a change in the structure of employment in traditional mining and oil and gas industries, Sahil Babayev, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, during his speech on the third day of the Baku Climate Action Week, APA reports.
He emphasized that the impact of the transition to a green economy on the labor sphere is one of the most pressing issues, requiring the most progressive and creative approaches.
"Alongside armed conflicts, terrorism, and financial crises, climate change affects millions of people. This is particularly painful for socially vulnerable groups, especially citizens with disabilities, women, youth, and informal workers," the minister noted.
He also stated that the implementation of digital technologies will significantly influence the rapid development of labor and social relations.
"Azerbaijan has determined that elevating the well-being of its population is its main goal, despite the negative impacts of existing economic processes at regional and global levels," the minister concluded.
