Today, in the proceedings held in the administrative building of the Sabunchu District Court under the chairmanship of Ganja Court On Grave Crimes judge Abdulla Mammadov, it was announced that the court investigation has ended.
Later, state prosecutor Mushfig Rahimov spoke and noted that the charges were confirmed in the court investigation.
The prosecutor proposed to the court for Voskanyan Gagik Ashotovich to be sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment.
It was noted that he must serve the first 5 years of his sentence in prison, and the rest in a strict regime penitentiary. After serving his sentence, he should be deported from the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The victims of the case have demanded a life sentence for the accused.
Later, the lawyer of the accused made a defense speech and asked the court to make a fair decision about the defendant.
Then Vagif Khachatryan was given the last word. He said he does not consider himself guilty and asked for the acquittal.
Giving the last word in the court, Voskanyan Gagik Ashotovich pleaded not guilty to the charges and asked the court to make a fair decision.

According to the accusation, on August 16 of this year, the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan was violated in order to carry out terrorist-sabotage operations by the intelligence-sabotage group of the Armed Forces of Armenia in the part of the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border passing through the territory of the village of Istisu, Kalbajar district.
Voskanyan Gagik Ashoti, a member of intelligence and subversion, was captured by the representatives of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces as a result of the conducted search operations.
When he was detained, a large number of weapons and ammunition were found on him. When he was disarmed, he offered armed resistance to the employees of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces and tried to kill them.
206.3.2 of the Criminal Code (smuggling of firearms and ammunition by a group of pre-conspired persons), 214.2.1, 214.2.3 (terrorism using firearms by a pre-conspired group), 29.120 (intentional murder) attempt), 228.2.1 (illegal acquisition, transportation, possession of firearms by a group of persons who colluded in advance), 283.2.1 (doing actions aimed at inciting national enmity by force) and 318.2 (collusion in advance) illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan by using force by a group of persons) was charged.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
