"About 20 centers perform cardiovascular surgery, while 40 specialize in invasive cardiology. These heart centers are active not only in Baku but also across regions of Azerbaijan," said Kamran Musayev, founder and honorary chairman of the Azerbaijan Society for Cardiovascular Surgery (ASCS) during his speech at the 9th Baku Heart Days International Congress, APA reports.
Musayev highlighted the significant role of the National Leader in building Azerbaijan as a state and developing its healthcare system.
“By 2000, Azerbaijan already had modern healthcare facilities. The priority area was cardiovascular diseases and their diagnosis and treatment. At that time, only the Central Clinic operated in the country in terms of diagnostics, intervention, and open surgery,” he said.
