"During the period of occupation by Armenia, the "Imarat" complex was completely destroyed. They used this historically significant building for keeping animals and other purposes,” Alessandro Bianchi, an expert on the restoration of historical monuments who visited the "Imarat" complex in Aghdam, told reporters, APA reports.
He said that the area they are currently in, is a symbol of the reconstruction of Garabagh after the occupation: "During the Armenian occupation, the "Imarat" complex was destroyed. They used this historic building for keeping animals and other purposes. The situation here is very bad because everywhere is destroyed. We have seen that a plan for the restoration of this temple has been prepared. The Institute of Archeology and Anthropology of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) supervises the conduct of these works. We hope that this historical temple will be restored in its original form and made available to the residents of Aghdam. Last year, we got acquainted with the works done in this area. We are all satisfied with the current result. Besides being an important monument of Azerbaijan's history, it is also a symbol of the reconstruction of Garabagh after the occupation.”
It should be noted that on September 19, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the inaugurationof the Building Complex after restoration in Aghdam city.
