A delegation led by Major General Aleh Uladzimiravich Matkin, head of the Department of Penal Enforcement of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belaus, visited Azerbaijan from April 22-24 for an exchange of experiences, APA reports, citing Ministry of Justice.
The guests first visited the Alley of Honor and the Martyrs' Alley.
The delegation was then received by Mirsaleh Seyidov, Deputy Minister of Justice and Head of the Penitentiary Service, where they discussed cooperation between the agencies, legislation in the penitentiary sector, the protection of rights and freedoms, infrastructure modernization, implementation of innovations, and staff training.
During the visit, the guests also toured the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Patriotic War Memorial Complex, the Victory Museum, and familiarized themselves with the operations of the Baku Investigation Detention Center, the Penal Institution No. 4, the Juvenile Penal Institution, and the Umbaki Penitentiary.
