"We have prepared a separate action plan regarding the waste dumped in the liberated territories," Head of the sector of the Ecological Policy Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Mehman Nabiyev said during a public discussion on the necessary amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on waste, adopted in 1998, APA reports.
He noted that since 2021, a special commission has been established to manage waste in the country, including in the liberated territories: "Said commission has given instructions to organizations on waste management. The largest amount of waste is construction waste. Currently, the private sector is carrying out the recycling of construction waste in the liberated territories. This will be applied across all liberated territories in the future, as this waste also poses a fire hazard. The management of waste in the liberated territories has been entrusted to "Tamiz Shahar" OJSC."
