Okhchuchay River continues to be polluted with waste from the mining industry, Kamran Aliyev, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said during a Scientific-Practical Conference held in Nakhchivan today, APA reports.

The Prosecutor General, noting that holding the next conference in Nakhchivan after Khankendi is of particular importance, stated that, unfortunately, in the course of the prolonged conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Araz River's banks and sediment have been deliberately polluted with chemical and radioactive waste, and this process is still ongoing.

"Currently, the rivers entering our country passing through the territory of Armenia, especially the Araz and its tributary Okchuchay, continue to be polluted with waste from the mining industry," Kamran Aliyev stressed.
