“In our modern times, societies accept norms of peaceful coexistence, cultural pluralism, and principles of mutual respect. These principles should be the key policy of every country to maintain peace and prosperity in society. However, unfortunately, the policy of hatred against Azerbaijanis carried out by the political leadership of Armenia for many years has created intolerance among the Armenian population on ethnic and religious grounds,” Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) Sabina Aliyeva said as she made a report on “Hate crimes and hate speech against Azerbaijanis", APA reports.

She noted that despite the end of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, statements based on hate rhetoric aimed at humiliating and insulting Azerbaijanis, photo and video materials are continuously promoted in Armenian society: “If we look through Armenian sources, it is possible to find quite a lot of materials about "Azerbaijanophobia policy" and "its priority", and unfortunately, such policy is openly supported at the state level."
