There are no trade unions in most of construction companies, chairman of Trade Union Confederation Hasan Jafarov told the APA.
He said that there was not a trade union in construction company Mutafakkir which constructed the already collpased building and “Collective agreement” was not signed between the leadership of the company and collective, and therefore Confederation can do nothing for the protection of the rights of those people.
“If there such document had existed, safety rules would have been ensured, the sufferers would have been rendered assistance,” he said.
Jafarov stated that officials of the Confederation are holding joint raids in building companies together with the representatives of Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, and propagate for the establishment of trade unions.
“But the company owners are not interested in it, employees prefer a day profit, they are afraid of employers and do not want to lose their earning,” he said. /APA/
