Islamophobia has reached a worrying level not only in France, but also in Europe. In recent times, this concept has entered the rhetoric of both political figures and media outlets that display a hostile attitude towards Muslims, Said Aalla, president of the Great Mosque of Strasbourg, said this in his report on Islamophobia in France at a panel discussion on "Institutionalization of anti-Muslim legislation in Europe. Islamophobic rhetoric against the backdrop of radicalization," APA reports.

He emphasized that stigmatizing laws against Muslims have been adopted in France:

"The calls of political circles for national unity are based on a dual attitude towards Muslims. During the presidential elections held in France in 2017, the radical party came in second place. Previously, Wahhabism, radicalism tendencies existed. The confusion caused by the current situation has resulted in Muslims being constantly questioned. Muslims are constantly stigmatized with various labels, and in addition, bans on headscarves have been adopted in schools. This restriction applies to both students and their mothers. All of these practices are implemented in contradiction to the ideas of republicanism. Each of these laws is a stigmatizing law. After September 11, anti-Muslim rhetoric in France has increased further and an obsessive attitude towards Muslims has been formed. The French Ministry of the Interior has adopted laws that will work against Muslims in 2024."
