On November 6, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazadeh participated in the global summit of world religious leaders within 28th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) on UN Environment Programme in Abu Dhabi, capital of United Arab Emirates, CMO told APA.
The event, organized under the auspices of the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is held under the slogan “United Spiritual Leaders for the Revival of the Planet”.
In his speech at the opening meeting, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazadeh conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the event.
Sheikhulislam A. Pashazadeh also noted that today the Azerbaijani state is rebuilding cities and villages in the liberated Garabagh, rebuilding destroyed mosques and temples belonging to other religions, implementing large-scale projects to restore ecological balance in the process of building infrastructure for the return of Azerbaijani people to their ancestral homes.
Within the framework of the Forum, Sheikhulislam A. Pashazade held a number of meetings with well-known religious and public figures of the world. In a meeting with the Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, Sheikhulislam discussed the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the Vatican and presented him with a special report prepared by the CMO for the Vatican on the current situation in the region after the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
