When will the first group of pilgrims from Azerbaijan depart for Hajj?

The first group of pilgrims from Azerbaijan will depart for the Hajj pilgrimage on May 25, Vusal Jahangiri, the head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Caucasian Muslims Office and the Head of the Hajj Electronic System, told APA.

He noted that other groups of pilgrims will also depart for Hajj in stages.

When will the document submission for Hajj pilgrims end?

The acceptance of documents for those wishing to go on Hajj started on January 21, and it is expected that submission will stop by the end of this week.

How much does the Hajj package cost?

The cost of the pilgrimage package for one person is $5,950 USD. The pilgrimage will be organized in a unified manner and will be carried out via air transportation.

What documents are required for Hajj registration?

The required documents are:

Civil passport (must be valid for at least one year);
A copy of the identity card;
Two color photographs, size 5 cm × 5 cm, taken against a white background (women must wear a dark hijab);
A medical certificate.

Where should those wishing to go on Hajj apply?

Documents are accepted on working days between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the administrative building of the Caucasian Muslims Office located at 7 Mirza Fatali Street, Baku.

What penalties await those who go on Hajj without permission?

Saudi Arabia has announced that it will impose strict penalties on those who violate the rules during this year's Hajj season. APA reports that the new rules, which will take effect starting tomorrow and last for 44 days, state that individuals who attempt to enter Mecca and holy sites without Hajj permits will face severe punishments. They may be fined up to 20,000 riyals (approximately $5,300). Those who assist unauthorized individuals in obtaining pilgrimage visas may be fined up to 100,000 riyals (approximately $26,000). Additionally, foreign visitors attempting unauthorized pilgrimage may be deported and banned from entering the country for 10 years. Vehicles carrying individuals with unauthorized pilgrimage visas may also be confiscated by court order.
