Fire occurred in Hajigabul, 180 Eldar pines burned

Baku. Javid Zeynalli â€“ APA. A fire occurred around the railway line in 110-111 km of Baku-Gazakh highway in the territory of Hajigabul.

Head of press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Â (MENR) Irade Ibarhimova told APA that the fire then passed to green area on the side of highway.

Fire extinguishers of the MENR and Hajigabul District Fire Protection Unit have been involved in the site and extinguished the fire. The fire was reportedly caused by carelessly discarded cigarette butts. As a result of the fire, 180 Eldar pines burned, 90 Eldar pines, 103 green ash-trees, 113 acacias and 60 olive-trees were damaged.

MENR employees have already started reforestation works. Law enforcement agencies have been appealed to find the culprits. Â Â
