An earthquake with a magnitude of 8 struck South American country of Peru, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Sunday, ONA reports.
The epicenter of the tremor was 80 kilometers (49.7 miles) southeast of Lagunas district at a depth of 115 kilometers (71.4 miles), said the USGS.
No casualties or material damages have been reported so far.

The tremor struck around 180 kilometres east of the town of Moyobamba at a depth of 105 kilometres, the USGS reported on Sunday, ONA reports.
A 7.5-magnitude earthquake has rocked northern Peru, according to the United States Geological Survey.
