Akif Mustafayev, head of TRACECA National Secretariat in Azerbaijan, said there are many expectations from the Summit.
“This summit would further consolidate Azerbaijan’s international position. A number of cities have been offered to host the Summit. The European Commission, which funds TRACECA projects, suggested holding the Summit in Brussels. Armenia is against the proposals suggested by Azerbaijan to hold the Summit in Baku,” he noted.
He added that state-owned and private companies of Azerbaijan have to date earned $1.5 billion from transportation via the TRACECA corridor.
The TRACEA Intergovernmental Commission was established in 1998. Headquartered in Baku, TRACECA joins 12 countries from Europe and Asia. /APA-Economics/
