Azerbaijan’s consolidated budget for 2008 to beat AZN 10 billion

Milli Majlis, the parliament of Azerbaijan, is to discuss a number of economic laws at the fall session.
These include the Antimonopoly Code, supplements to salaries in the budgetary organizations, Insurance Bill and 2008 State Budget Blueprint, said Ziyad Samedzade, chairman of the parliamentary commission for economic policy.
He added that the bill on the 2008 state budget will reflect an analysis of the macroeconomic trend in Azerbaijan after the presidential elections in 2003.
“It is projected that the consolidated budget for 2008 will exceed AZN 10 billion. Along with the revenues, the expenditures go up too. Although the growth in the budget expenditures dissatisfy some European experts, we must say that this trend is powered by objective reasons,†he added.
