In 2008 Azerbaijan to submit three projects to the World Bank for approval

The World Bank Office in Baku told APA-Economics that the WB mission and the government of Azerbaijan are discussing components of some projects at present.
“They include Absheron Environmental Clean-Up Project, the Railway Transport and Trade Facilitation Project and Accounting Improvement Project. It is likely that the government will finalize these projects in late 2007 or early 2008 and submit to the World Bank for approvalâ€.
The delegation led by Peter Thomson, Director of the Sustainable Development Department of the Europe and. Central Asia Region of the World Bank, is in Azerbaijan. A number of projects related to energy, information, social sphere, agriculture development and other economic sectors are being discussed.
In accordance with the Country Partnership Strategy FY07-10 between Azerbaijan and the World Bank, the bank will support 18 projects in various sectors. The World Bank has to date allocated $1.1 billion to Azerbaijan. /APA-Economics/
