Contract on transporting Azeri gas to Georgia via old pipeline prolonged

The contract on transporting Azerbaijan’s gas to Georgia through old pipeline has been prolonged by September, director general of Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation Alexander Khetaguri, told the APA’s Georgia bureau.
He said that the amount of the received gas will depend on Georgia’s needs.
Khetaguri said that they do not buy gas from Russia, but play a transit role in transportation of Russian gas to Armenia.
The contract between Azerbaijan and Georgia was to expire on June 29. The neighboring country receives about 1mln. cu m gas from Shah Deniz field through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline. /APA/
