Trade between Azerbaijan and Russia advances 8.5%

The trade between Azerbaijan and Russia grew 8.5%, year-on-year, during the first four months, said Head of the Russia’s Trade Office in Azerbaijan Yuri Shedrin.
He added that trade totaled to $424.226 million “but there is discrepancy between statistics posted by Azerbaijan and Russiaâ€.
He also said trade between the two neighboring countries continues to grow although Azerbaijan stopped importing Russian gas.
“Russia’s imports from Azerbaijan rose 71% to $122.603 million while exports to Azerbaijan declined 5.5% to $301.623 million,†he noted.
Automobiles, machines and polytechnic devices accounted for 30% of imports to Azerbaijan.
“We have to work hard to find levers to increase the trade between the two countries to $2 billion as the two presidents suggested,†he concluded. /APA-Economics/
