Azerfon’s clientele reaches 100,000
At present, Nar Mobile’s service coverage reaches 80% of Azerbaijan’s territory through both its own network and national roaming.
Mr. Armley added that the company has expanded its coverage to regions of Aghdash, Aghstafa, Khachmaz and Kazakh, bringing 70 base stations online.
At present Azerfon is at the capacity of providing mobile services to 500,000 customers but the network coverage is slated to beat 80% with a capacity of over 1,000,000 customers without national roaming by the end of this year.
Azerfon plans to invest a total of $300 million in establishment of network and infrastructure in the country.
The company commercial director Milos Surla added that Azerfon cut call prices although it started operation three months ago.
International SMS-ing prices were reduced and the customers are able to contact any point of 217 countries.
Azerbaijan Communications and Information Technologies Ministry press secretary congratulated the company and wished success.
AZERFON LLC launched its commercial activities on March 21, 2007 under Nar Mobile brand. /APA-Economics/
