Baku to host international seminar on â€œPrivatization experience in ECO member statesâ€

State Committee on Management of Public Property and Economic Cooperation Organization will organize international seminar on â€œPrivatization experience in ECO member statesâ€ on June 6-8 in Baku, the state committee told the APA-Economics.
The decision on holding the next seminar on privatization in Azerbaijan was passed at the meeting held in Ankara in December, 2006.
Representatives of state bodies in the sphere of privatization from nine countries (Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan) and officials of Economic Cooperation Organization will participate in the seminar.
After the official opening ceremony of the seminar the participants will make speeches on privatization experience in their countries. The activities carried out in Azerbaijan in the sphere of privatization, the role of privatization in economic reforms and improvements will be debated in the seminar.
The implementation of the â€œAction plan of Economic Cooperation Organization on cooperation in the sphere of privatizationâ€ adopted at the meeting held in Tehran on July 3-6 will also be debated on the first day of the seminar.
The participants are expected to visit enterprises in order to get acquainted with the real results of the privatization process carried out in Azerbaijan.
Economic Cooperation Organization, the headquarters of which is situated in Tehran, was established in 1985. /APA-Economics/
