Azerbaijan is importing less than 1 million kilowatts of electricity per day from Russia at present, said Etibar Pirverdiyev, President of Azerenergy.
“Russia tried to increase prices. We haggled and beat down the prices in April. According to the agreement, Azerbaijan is also exporting electricity to Russia in peak hours at the same price,” he added.
Inter RAO EES, a subsidiary of Russia’s RAO EES (Unified Energy Systems) and Azerenergy, Azerbaijan’s State Electricity Company, came on April 27 to an agreement in Baku for electricity imports and exports after the long-drawn-out price-haggling negotiations. /APA-Economics/
