He added that the increase of monthly subscription fee for home phones will pave the way for implementation of new projects.
He noted the Council held that it is early to limit free home phone use in the country.
“In developed countries, all telephone calls, including in-city calls are charged. We will give our proposals again in the future if our people are ready for this move,” he said.
The Tariff Council increased monthly subscription fee for home homes to AZN 2 while the proposal to limit excessive home telephone use was rejected. Throughout the country the prices for inter-city calls were cut to 7 ( from 9) kopecks per minute, calls to CIS and Baltic States to 36 kopecks (45), calls to Iran, Turkey and Pakistan to 45 kopecks (54), calls for European states to 54 kopecks (72) and calls for the US and other countries to 54 kopecks (90). The decision comes effective June 1. /APA-Economics/
