Tariff Council cuts communication fees, rejects free home phone talk limitation

He added that as proposed by the State Marine Administration, some 40 services were combined into 17 in 3 packages and the fees for these services were set in range between AZN 10 and AZN 3,200. Permanent certification of ports will be the most charged.
The Tariff Council increased monthly subscription fee for home homes was increased to AZN 2 while the proposal to limit excessive home telephone use was rejected. Throughout the country the prices for inter-city calls were cut to 7 ( from 9) kopecks per minute, calls to CIS and Baltic States to 36 kopecks (45), calls to Iran, Turkey and Pakistan to 45 kopecks (54), calls for European states to 54 kopecks (72) and calls for the US and other countries to 54 kopecks (90). The decision comes effective June 1.
Mr. Babayev added that cutting international call prices will also help to reduce mobile phone calls as they use Communications and Information Technologies Ministry’s channels. He noted that the proposal to limit free home phone use can be considered in future.
The Council didn’t consider proposals on prices of medicine registration, vet services, utilities and some others. /APA-Economics/
