“It is very important to develop tourism in Azerbaijan, this is a new sphere for the country,” chief of German Technical Cooperation’s (GTZ) program on development of private sector Michael Gerlich said, APA-Economics reports.
According to Mr. Gerlich there are plans to develop this sphere especially in Lenkeran.
“Moreover, some measures are being taken for development of tea-growing and textile. Special experts have been invited to rehabilitate tea bushes,” he said.
The official also noted that tea produced in Azerbaijan meets only the needs of country, that is why he does not support its export.
“We support the rival between the imported tea and local produce. Moreover, local standards are not applied here. We plan to support this sphere too,” he said. /APA-Economics/
