Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee holdS press conference on 1Q overall results

Azerbaijani State Statistical Committeeâ€˜s Chairman Arif Veliyev has today hold press conference on 1Q overall results. Veliyev noted that GDP increased to AZN 5,145.5m, up 39.7% from the same period last year. The fixed investment was AZN1, 188.8m, which is 12.4% higher than a year earlier.
The committee chairman noted that increase has also been observed in production of produces, so that 69,200 tonnes of meat and 210.8m eggs (3.55 higher with the same period of last year) were produced during this period. Veliyev stated that as there is no problem on bird flu now, the production of eggs has raised.
Rainy weather in March-April influenced to the sowing of spring plant. As for April 1, 98, 200 hectares of area has been sowed. The chairman did not rule its influence to the prices for produces.
Arif Veliyev stated that the volume of cargo transportations have also increased in reported period. Passenger transportation increased by 6.7%. Communication companies have provided the population with services worth AZN140.2m, which is 16.6% higher than a year earlier.
Azerbaijan imported more from Russia (20.7%), and Turkey (9.8%) and exported more to Italy (34.5), to Turkey (12.3%) and to Russia (11.3%).
Turkey is the country with 100% investment holders and joint ventures in Azerbaijan. Turkeyâ€™s indicator is 28.75, UKâ€™s 12%, Russiaâ€™s 7% and Iranâ€™s is 6.5%. Revenue for the first quarter reached AZN 1,086.8m, 65% higher from a year earlier while expenditure rose 25.6% to AZN 834.6m. Surplus of the state budget totaled to AZN 252m, it means revenues were more than expenditures./APA-Economics/
