â€œEurovision TVâ€ Director General: Statements that the contest is of political character are groundless

â€œSemi-final of the contest will be held in Belgrade on May 20 and 22, final on May 24. 24 countries will participate in the final. I believe that Azerbaijan will also be among those countries. If Azerbaijani representative becomes winner of this contest, all doors will be open for Azerbaijan in international world. The main thing is that if Azerbaijan wins, next contest will be organized in Azerbaijan. The attention of 43 countries will be directed to Azerbaijan in this case,â€ he said.
BjÃ¸rn Erichsen said that he will listen to performance of Azerbaijani representatives in local final on February 2.
â€œI will attend the local final as honorary guest. I believe that large show will be organized. I am sure that the 3 finalists will justify hopes,â€ he said.
Eurovision TVâ€ Director General also commented on reports on Azerbaijani national songsâ€™ being among songs sang by Armenian representative.
â€œThe selection of song continues there. We can not object to anything, as the selection has not yet been ended. According to the terms of the contest the song which will be sung should not be sung anywhere,â€ he said.
The three finalists who will attend the event â€“ duet of Elnur Huseynov and Samir Javadzadeh, Unformal group and Aynur Isgandarli said that they will demonstrate unforgettable show on February 2.
