Baku. Rashad Suleymanov –APA. Cluster bombs, Grad missile, 120-mm cluster bombs are used during the operation carried out in Azerbaijani territory, APA reports.
Hafiz Safikhanov, Chief of the Azerbaijan Campaign to Ban Landmines said at a press conference on April 18- Global Day of Action to Ban Cluster. He stated that cluster bombs were used in Yukhari Yaglivand, Yukhari Dilagarda, Veysalli, Gorgan villages of Fuzuli Region, Khacin Garvand, Cinli, Garalar, Agdaranin Sirkhavand, Bash Guneypaya, Dovshanli and Mehmana villages of Aghdam Region according to preliminary investigation.
“Cluster bombs have killed 9 people, injured 40. More than 300 people have been killed according to unofficial informationâ€, he said. Safikhanov noted that 210 kinds of such ammunition were produced in 3 countries of the world.
Cluster bombs are used in the military operations in 24 countries, including Azerbaijan.
Martin Amasher, head of ICRC Representation in Azerbaijan called Azerbaijan to join “Osslo Processâ€, an international initiative to ban cluster bombs.
