Head of Nagorno Karabakhâ€™s Azerbaijani community blames Russia for Kosovoâ€™s declaration of independence

Bahmanov considers that as there is a gap in the legal acts adopted by international organizations in connection with the territorial integrity of states, Kosovoâ€™s independence is not recognized by the UN member states, as well as all of the European states. According to Nizami Bahmanov, Russia paved the way for the conflicts in the post-Soviet space â€“ in Moldova, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
â€œSlaughters in the Balkans after the collapse of Yugoslavia were also prepared and supported by Russia. The conflicts remained unsolved due to Russiaâ€™s great efforts. This caused unilateral declaration of Kosovoâ€™s independence,â€ he said.
Nizami Bahmanov states on behalf of the community that Kosovoâ€™s unilateral declaration of independence is illegal and contradicts the international legal norms.
Nizami Bahmanov mentioned that there is no unanimous opinion concerning Kosovoâ€™s independence in the UN Security Council and underlined that this step of Kosovoâ€™s authority will cause undesirable results.
Bahmanov noted the importance of solving every conflict in line with the international legal norms and in the framework of the territorial integrity and added that Kosovo issue can not be precedent for the settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.
â€œThere is fact of occupation in Nagorno Karabakh conflict â€“ Armenia has been occupying Azerbaijani territory and is recognized as an aggressive state. Our president state in all meetings that the conflict will be solved in the framework of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and it is reflected in all the declarations signed with various countries,â€ he said.
Nizami Bahmanov considers that Russia that creates â€œfrozen conflictsâ€ will be punished for this.
â€œRecognition of Kosovoâ€™s independence by some countries is revenge on Russia,â€ he said.
