Azerbaijan's judoka advances to Paris 2024 quarterfinals - UPDATED

Azerbaijan's judoka Ushangi Kokauri has competed in his next match at the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris, capital of France, Apasport.az reports.

Azerbaijan's national team member faced the Finnish representative, Martti Puumalainen in the 100+ kg weight category.

Kokauri defeated his opponent by ippon and qualified for the quarterfinals.

Note that the Azerbaijani judo national team went to the Olympics with 9 athletes.

Hidayat Heydarov (73) and Zelim Kotsoyev (100) have won gold medals for Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani judoka Ushangi Kokauri has begun his competition at the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris, France, APA reports.

The athlete, competing in the 100 kg weight category, faced Brazilian Rafael Silva in the 1/16 final round.

Kokauri won against his opponent and secured a place in the 1/8 finals.
