Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. Swiss, Serbian Foreign Ministers have outlined the priorities of 2014-2015 OSCE Chairmanships in Vienna. APA reports that Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter, Foreign Minister of Switzerland announced the slogan of his country's chairmanship at a session of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna: “The creation of a safe society for everyone’s welfare”.
The Minister said that one of the main priorities would be to work to solve the protracted conflicts in the OSCE area. He noted that Switzerland is ready to contribute to this work: "Unfortunately, currently the progress in the resolution of these conflicts is measured with millimeters. Our experience in the achievement of compromises will contribute to the OSCE in building bridges.”
Burkhalter considered the South Caucasus region as a main regional focus of the Swiss chairmanship. He said that Switzerland intends to improve the political dialogue between the countries of the South Caucasus and strengthen measures to increase confidence in the region. The Minister noted that they would provide comprehensive support to the activity of the OSCE Minsk Group and Geneva dialogue and encourage them to put forward new ideas on the resolution of conflicts.
Foreign Minister of Serbia Ivan Mrkic, who will chair the OSCE in 2015, said that they support jointly developed priorities and make efforts to implement them.
