Moscow. Farid Akbarov - APA. The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains one of the priorities of Russia’s foreign policy, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Oct.14.

She said Russian FM Sergei Lavrov is discussing with his foreign counterparts the Karabahk conflict’s settlement.

“Russia is closely working with the US and France in this regard. Recently, on the sidelines of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly, the Russian FM held a meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. The sides discussed practical issues of settlement on the eve of the co-chairs’ forthcoming visit to the region this month and the coordination of the OSCE MG’s activity,” the spokesperson noted.

Zakharova went on to add that the resumption of dialogue is complicated by the worsening situation in the conflict zone, the increase in the number of causalities and the killing of civilians. “Moscow urges the sides of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to refuse from using force but to show the political will to reach a compromise,” she said.
