Philippe Lefort told journalists that they discussed current dynamics of the negotiations on the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and how the EU might support the process. He did not speak about the confidence-building measures between Azerbaijan and Armenia planned by the EU.
"We have some ideas, we discuss them. I wouldn't like to speak about it now," he said.
Asked about the EU's participation and role in organizing the meetings of the representatives of Azerbaijani and Armenian communities, Philippe Lefort said EU is doing everything to support such meetings.
"We are doing everything to support the contacts and relations between the Azerbaijani and Armenian people. Azerbaijan is an important country for the EU and I positively assess the dynamics of our cooperation," he said.
