20th anniversary of Aghdam region’s occupation commemorated in Alley of Martyrs

APA reports that chairman of “Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Karabakh” Public Union and head of Shusha Region Executive Authority Bayram Safarov, MPs, internally displaced persons from Aghdam region and representatives of public organizations visited the grave of martyrs and paid tribute to them.

Following this, they visited the graves of the martyrs of Agdam buried in the second Alley of Martyrs.

Aghdam region was occupied by the Armenian armed units on July 23, 1993. 1154 sq m territory of Azerbaijan‘s Aghdam region went into the control of Armenia as a result of occupation. Azerbaijan controls only 22.6% of Aghdam with a population of 147,000. More than 6 000 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed in battles for Aghdam.
