Speaker of Indonesian parliament signs message on recognition of Khojaly genocide

Baku. Victoria Dementeva – APA. The event on the 21st anniversary of Khojaly genocide has been held at the University of Indonesia. Azerbaijan’s embassy in Indonesia told APA that the event was jointly organized by Nahdlatul Ulama, one of the world’s biggest NGOs and the University of Indonesia with the participation of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC).

The event aims to commemorate Khojaly genocide and call on the member states’ parliaments to give an impetus to the application of the resolution on the recognition of Khojaly genocide adopted at the meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states in Palembang city last year.

Addressing the conference speaker of Indonesian parliament Ali Marzuki unambiguously stated that Nagorno Karabakh is Azerbaijan’s territory, was occupied by Armenia, during the occupation of Azerbaijan’s territories Armenia committed genocide against Azerbaijanis in Khojaly.

Ali Marzuki was the first to sign the message on the recognition of Khojaly genocide that will be submitted to Indonesian president and parliament. More than 30 parliamentarians representing various parties signed the message. The number of signatures will likely reach 100 by the end of March, the message will be sent to various agencies.
