First Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament: â€œAircrafts of any foreign state violating the Azerbaijani airspace will be shot downâ€

Asgarov said that aircrafts of any foreign state flying through the airspace of Azerbaijan without the country's permission would be shot down by the air defense forces: “This is an unequivocal decision, and we have repeatedly announced it”.

Asgarov noted that the matter is about the flights to the unrecognized areas: “Thus, Armenian civil aircrafts are operating flights through the airspace of Azerbaijan today. Azerbaijani civil aircrafts are simultaneously operating such flights. This procedure is regulated by international laws and conventions. I reiterate that the matter is about the flights to unrecognized areas. They should be distinguished from each other. Flights to such areas can be operated only with the permission of Azerbaijan. However, Azerbaijan may consider it after the liberation of the occupied territories.”
