Attempting to show himself as a contemporary man, the president of Armenia forgets the occupation of 20 percent of the neighboring state's territories by them”, said spokesman for Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elman Abdullayev while commenting on the opinions of Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan.

Elman Abdullayev noted that the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan was fully destroyed in the occupied territories and specially underlined the Khojaly Genocide: “Attempting to manifest themselves as innocent, official Yerevan and Armenian diaspora must not forget that the crime, caused the death of many innocent people in Khojaly, must be fairly assessed. The president of Armenia speaks about modernity in the 21st century, but he is helpless before ordinary questions. These questions also include the occupation of Azerbaijani territories and the existence of IDPs.”

Abdullayev noted again that the European Union, including the other states supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Note that Sargsyan expressed his groundless accusations on Azerbaijan and underlined that Turkey must open its borders with Armenia at the briefing with Chairman of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso in Yerevan.
