Azerbaijan’s Embassy to Austria has issued a statement on tension in the frontline, APA reports.
The statement reads that as a result of conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan which continues for 30 years, more than 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territories are under the occupation of the Armenian Armed Forces.
iT has been reminded that more than 1 million Azerbaijanis had to leave their homes, and had to settle as IDP in different regions of Azerbaijan under difficult conditions.
“In the negotiations mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, the Armenian side took a non-constructive position and did not include a political solution to the conflict. However, the international community does not see Armenia as an aggressor state and does not put political pressure on the country to take a constructive position and withdraw its armed forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in accordance with UN Security Council Resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 in 1993. Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated that Armenia's ongoing military aggression and the presence of its armed forces in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan pose a great threat to regional peace and stability.”
