But the discussion on these talks hasn’t been held for a long time”, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov told journalists, APA reports. He said that sometimes the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk group hold meetings at a relevant level: “But the negotiation process which is necessary for the solution of concrete problems within a definite period of time and due to the daily basis is impossible now. That’s why the co-chairs’ visits is useful now. They come to Azerbaijan and after getting familiar with its position leave for Armenia and then return back and hold several meetings within EU and OSEC organizations and declare that the negotiation process is being continued. As there are no effective results in this direction, the co-chairs try to win confidence by means of the above mentioned meetings in order to fulfill the vacuum. Azerbaijan has made several efforts to solve the problem, but Armenia’s response was negative. Some proposals are not seem to be effective for the current situation. Any efforts which concerns only local population are unacceptable now when the territory of Azerbaijan is still under Armenian occupation”.

The Deputy Minister also underlined that the meeting between Azerbaijani and Armenian communities of Nagorno Karabakh was rejected exactly by the Armenian side: “That’s why I observe relevant speculation either from Armenia, or from the co-chairs. The proposals should be made in accordance with the current opportinuties”.

Araz Azimov said that Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign minister is not going to hold a meeting as it was expected before. “Holding a meeting is easy, but to achieve a positive resultis a bit difficult”.
