Parliament’s committee chairman: “Azerbaijan will continue its peaceful policyâ€

Huseynli considers that the last incidents seriously damage the peaceful negotiations: “Azerbaijan always shows its loyalty to the peaceful negotiations. The meetings between the representatives of both communities were held just on the initiative of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani MPs, officials didn’t refuse to participate in the international events in Yerevan. We gave security guarantee to Armenia, but it didn’t participate in Eurovision. The Armenian MPs, who participated in Baku-host session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, saw that Azerbaijani people are patient and tolerantâ€.
The committee chairman said that Azerbaijan took all steps toward peace: “We show our loyalty to all decisions and statements, especially the Declaration adopted at Sochi meeting. Azerbaijan demonstrates its respect to all adopted decisions. That’s why it is absolutely impossible for us to violate the ceasefireâ€.
Huseynli said Azerbaijani soldier takes up arms to rebuff attacks against him: “Even despite the occupation of our lands, opening of fire on us, we still observe the ceasefire. All Azerbaijani community together with the relatives of killed soldiers experienced pain while hearing the death of our soldiers. It is difficult for Azerbaijan to speak about peace after every such incident. But evidently, Armenia doesn’t want to leave its occupational policyâ€.
The committee chairman doesn’t think that the military operations will start. “As we have always been loyal to the ceasefire regime and hold peaceful negotiations, we will continue our policy in this direction. But, of course, we must rebuff the attacks and provocations of the opposite sideâ€.
