Mayor of Calgary accuses Armenian armed forces of Khojaly massacre

Baku – APA. Due to the activity of Canada-based Alberta Azerbaijani Cultural Society (ALACS), Mayor of the City of Calgary Naheed Nenshi recognized the fact of Khojaly massacre and said Armenian armed forces were accountable for this crime. According to APA, the Mayor’s letter reads: “At night from February 25 to 26, 1992, Armenian armed forces surrounded the Khojaly town of Azerbaijan’s Nagorno Karabakh region, attacked the city and fired at the civilians intensively”.

“The City of Calgary recognizes February 25-26, 2012 as the 20th anniversary of that tragic day and commemorates the victims of those events”, the letter said.

20th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy was commemorated on February 25-26, 2012 in the City of Calgary, Canada by the Mayor’s decision.
