Witnesses of Khojaly genocide hold press conference in Istanbul

Residents of the town of Khojaly Mahammad Shukurov, Alamdar Guluzadeh, Mammad Nagiyev and Zarifa Guliyeva addressed the participants. They said Turkey always supported and assisted Azerbaijan in delivering true information about Khojaly genocide to the world. â€œNow we want the Turkish parliament to recognize the Khojaly tragedy as genocideâ€, they said.

Khojaly residents criticized the activity of the OSCE Minsk Group, which is mediating a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh problem. They noted that members of the Minsk Group donâ€™t call Armenia as an aggressor country and Khojaly events as genocide. The residents of Khojaly demanded the Minsk Group to name Armenia as aggressor country and to recognize Khojaly events as genocide.

UN Security Council adopted four resolutions on the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, but those resolutions have not been fulfilled yet, said Khojaly residents and voiced their demands to the UN.

Resident of Khojaly Zarifa Guliyeva, whose relatives were killed during the massacre, said that recently she has sent letters to the presidents of France and Armenia. Guliyeva said she was studying at the university and wanted her homeland to be liberated from the Armenian occupation. â€œI will graduate from the university two years later. I want to work as teacher in Khojalyâ€.
