# 23 April 2025 00:01 (UTC +04:00)

Two years have passed since the establishment of the Lachin border checkpoint, APA reports.

On April 23, 2023, at 12:00 PM, units of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan established a border checkpoint on the country’s sovereign territory, at the start of the Lachin-Khankendi road, on the border with Armenia.

A ceremony to raise the Azerbaijani flag was held at the newly established checkpoint, and a report was delivered to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev.

The Lachin border checkpoint was set up to prevent the transfer of manpower, weapons, ammunition, mines, and other military supplies from Armenia to illegal Armenian armed groups on Azerbaijani territory, in violation of the trilateral Statement signed on November 10, 2020.

As President Ilham Aliyev stated, April 23 means complete restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
