The Georgian Ministry of Defense has announced the start of the ETERNITY 2024 command post exercise involving military personnel from Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.
Today, the official opening ceremony of the multinational exercise took place at the Georgian Defense Forces and NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center's training ground. It was noted that military personnel from all three countries, as well as representatives from the Strategic Pipeline Protection Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and Georgian Railways, will participate in both the field and headquarters components of the exercise.
Speaking before the exercise participants at the opening ceremony, Deputy Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces, Brigadier General Irakli Tchitchinadze wished for the successful completion of the exercise.
According to the exercise scenario, the defense of strategically important facilities and economic projects in the region will be carried out in the Vaziani training area.
It was noted that the ETERNITY 2024 exercises aim to enhance interagency coordination, communication on emergencies, as well as risk management and mutual cooperation in a multinational environment.
